This is a list of the questions I get asked the most by my clients.
If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out! I’d love to help you with any queries you may have.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
If you could fill out a few details on the contact form, I’ll reach out to you via email to:
- Answer your questions
- Reserve your spot on my waiting list
- Provide you with a detailed quote based on what you’ve shared regarding price, medium, and size.
Feel free to upload any reference photos you’d like to share. The more, the merrier! It really helps to see the subject from different angles or under different lighting.
If you prefer, you can also send your reference photos directly to my email: pippa@horse-portraits.com.
I’m always excited to chat about your commission before I start working on it to make sure I have all the info I need.
I’ll usually prepare some digital compositions using your reference photos to give you a sneak peek of what the portrait will look like, or to provide you with a few options to choose from.
Once you’ve settled on a composition you love, I’ll confirm all the details like size, medium, and composition. If that is all good for you, I’ll add your portrait to my waiting list.
When your portrait is all finished, I’ll send you a scan or photo of the artwork (especially if it’s larger than 12″x16″ or an oil painting) for your approval. If there’s anything you’d like adjusted, just let me know!
Once you give the thumbs up, I’ll send you an e-invoice for the remaining balance, which you can pay online with any debit or credit card or through PayPal.
After I receive your payment, I’ll ship your portrait to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery. It’s a trackable and insured service, so you can expect your artwork to arrive within two working days. For addresses outside the UK, it might take up to ten working days. Looking forward to working with you!
I don’t require a deposit because I want you to have a completely stress-free experience when you commission a portrait from me.
I currently have a waiting list, and the expected wait time is about 2 to 3 months. If you have an urgent deadline, just let me know, and I’ll do my best to see if I can accommodate your commission sooner.
I’d love to see your reference photos! You can easily share them with me by attaching them in the contact form on any page of my website.
Feel free to upload jpg, jpeg, or png files, and just make sure they’re each no larger than 15MB.
If you prefer, you can also drop me an email at pippa@dog-portrait.co.uk with your reference photos attached as jpg, jpeg, or png files, keeping those to a maximum of 3MB each.
And if you have an original photo that you’d like me to work from but can’t scan it yourself, no worries! You can send it to me by post—just be sure to use registered post to keep it safe.
Don’t hesitate to send as many reference photos as you’d like. It really helps to see your subject from different angles and lighting.
Feel free to send me as many reference photos as you’d like. I’d be happy to take a look and share my thoughts on which ones might work best for the portrait based on my experience.
I often find that clients have a favorite photo in mind because they love the composition, pose, or the way it captures the subject’s personality. However, sometimes those favorites might not be the clearest or detailed enough to work with. Not to worry! We can usually use additional photos to capture all the details and create that perfect portrait together.
The quality and detail in your reference photo really matter since I’ll be using it to gather all the information I need for your portrait. The more detail you provide, the better the final result will be! Feel free to send me as many reference photos as you like, and I’ll gladly share my thoughts on which ones work best and will make your portrait shine.
Absolutely! Feel free to email me your reference photos of your dog, and I’d be more than happy to chat about which medium would work best for their portrait. I can also help you decide on the size, taking into account the breed and whether you’re thinking of a head and shoulders portrait or a full body one.
Absolutely! You can include multiple subjects in your portrait. Just make sure the reference photos you provide have similar lighting—like both taken outdoors in sunlight or indoors with flash—and that they are of good quality. There’s no extra charge for including additional subjects.
Absolutely! Once I’ve completed the portrait, I’ll share a photo of it with you for your thoughts. If there’s anything you’d like to adjust, just let me know, and I’ll send over an updated version. I want to make sure you’re completely thrilled with the final result.
Absolutely! You can purchase a Gift Certificate for any size or type of portrait. The great thing is that my Gift Certificates never expire, so you can use them whenever you like. Just hop over to the Gift Certificate page on my website to buy one.
Once your payment has been received, I’ll carefully package your artwork and send it out with Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK addresses. This way, your portrait will be insured, trackable, and usually delivered the very next day.
Absolutely! I’m happy to offer free delivery in the UK. I believe it’s essential for my clients to enjoy a straightforward experience without any unexpected fees.
Absolutely! I want you to be completely thrilled with your portrait, so I offer a hassle-free 7-day return policy. If for any reason you’re not totally happy, just send it back to me (at your expense) within a week, and as long as it’s undamaged and the original packaging, I’ll gladly give you a full refund. Your confidence and peace of mind are super important to me when you commission artwork. I’m excited to share that thanks to the quality of my portraits, I’ve never had a painting returned in the whole of my career.
